Christmas Spirit

The holidays are especially hard for grievers. Life after loss is a constant dichotomy of grieving what you lost and enjoying what you still have. There are even times when you have to tell yourself to smile and enjoy being alive because grief can make you forget.

As the girls and I prepare for our second Christmas without Taylor, we are trying to figure out the best ways to honor him and celebrate the holidays without our pain overshadowing the joy of Christmas and the gift of our savior! I’m sharing a piece I wrote for Fort Worth Moms on ways to include a lost loved one in your holiday celebrations. I hope some of these ideas will be useful for others who are sitting down to Christmas dinner this year with an empty chair at the table.
